Charles Alan Brewster is the main protagonist in Fright Night and Fright Night Part 2. In the comics he hunts vampires and various other creatures of the night with washed up horror film actor Peter Vincent.

Biography[]

Growing up in suburbia[]

Brewster was raised by his single working mother Judy in Rancho Corvalis, Iowa. Later he enrolled in Christopher L. Cushing High School and began dating Amy Peterson.

Vampire next door[]

Charley had a very active imagination and was a huge fan of monster and horror films while in high school. When he discovered that his new neighbor Jerry Dandridge was a vampire, nobody believed him.

Charley eventually turned to Peter Vincent, a has-been actor who used to star as a vampire hunter. When Charley asked Peter for help, the actor dismissed the boy as insane. Soon after, Amy and Evil enlisted the help of Peter to prove to Charley that Jerry is not really a vampire, but Peter discovered that Charley was right all along when he noticed Jerry's lack of a reflection. Subsequently, Jerry turned into a vampire, turned Edd into a vampire, and kidnapped Amy.

Charley and Peter showed up at the vampire's house intent on rescuing Amy. Unfortunately, Charley was quickly knocked out by Jerry Dandridge's servant, Billy Cole, and was brought to Amy.

Peter rescued Charley and they both killed Billy Cole and then after a long battle, Jerry Dandridge as well.

College years[]

Charley later broke up with Amy and began dating Alex Young in college. He also started seeing psychologist Harrison and ceased to believe in vampires.

Despite what he now believed, him and Peter remained close friends. However, Charley was soon the target for Regine (Jerry's sister) seeking revenge. He first began to have nightmares about the alluring vampire. His relationship with Alex began to dwindle as well. He tried to tell Peter that Regine was a vampire. However, he was quickly convinced she was an actress in town for "personal business".

Peter learned the truth and tried to warn his friend, but Charley didn't believe him. Later, Charley and Alex had a run in with a vampire while at the campus library, causing them to get arrested. While in jail, his bail was paid in full by Regine Dandridge.

She took him to her apartment, revealing her intentions to turn him into a vampire and torture Charley forever. Luckily, he was saved by Peter and Alex. In the process killing his friend, Richie.

Regine attempted to turn him into a vampire by having him drain Alex (as Charley was already half-vampire thanks to Regine) but this failed and she was forced to retreat.

While down in the basement, Regine tried one last time to turn Charley into a vampire. She almost succeeded, but Charley broke free at the last second, killing her with sunlight with Peter's help.

Continuing adventures[]

Peter and Charley continue to combat various supernatural threats not just limited to vampires.

Personality and traits[]

Charley is a normal teenager and while impulsive at times has a heart of gold. He makes mistakes but realizes quickly and does what he can to make up for them and do the right thing. Charlie also has a strong sense of determination when it comes to the safety of the people around him. When he feels that his friends and family are in danger at the hands of Jerry Dandridge, he does everything he can to protect them, even when it's detrimental to himself.

This leads others, Amy, Evil Ed, and Peter Vincent, to try and help him and getting into danger themselves as well.

Charlie’s main interests are in cars, specifically his half painted 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback, watching Fright Night on T.V, and his girlfriend Amy.
